- Not many people know there is a CPS school at the justice center that is now receiving the resources it needs to actually educate and rehabilitate youth.
Implemented a trauma-informed approach driving better outcomes
- Kids interacting with the juvenile justice system carry a lot of trauma, and now children can work through that trauma safely with trained professionals.
- Judge Bloom has implemented mental health programming that removes youth from the fight-or-flight cycles that drive recidivism.
Ensuring kids get critical medical care
- Judge Bloom has grown the Oral Health Coalition to ensure kids can receive needed treatments to be proud of their dental health and smiles.
- Directed outreach to service providers in Hamilton County, connecting youth with the resources they need.
Leading on Pay Equity, Ending Nepotism, and Modernizing the Court
Implemented pay equity to ensure that workers are paid fair wages
- Ended the practice of underpaying hundreds of public employees.
Ended favoritism and nepotism in the hiring process
- Implemented a fair hiring process so that the best candidates are working on behalf of the people, not the most well-connected.
- No longer requires new employees to make a loyalty oath to the Republican Party as a condition of employment. Yes, you read that right.
Made much needed updates to the court website
- Modernized operations for better efficiency for users.
- Improved transparency to the public.
Advanced Policies Addressing the Root of Systemic Problems
Started work groups to address upstream interventions
- Restarted the Community Advisory Council.
- Helped implement and direct money to go towards community problem-solving.
- Launched the Refocus Program that offers prevention and mentorship services during the school day.
